3 Signs You’re Out of Alignment (And How to Get Back on Track)

If you ever feel restless, flat or guilty for wanting more in life (even when you literally have everything you could possibly want on paper), then you’re not alone.

I hear from so many women that something’s not quite right. Please do not feel guilty or think you’re doing something wrong, we need to embrace these feelings. It’s just your inner compass (what I call your soul blueprint) letting you know you’re out of alignment.

When you’re aligned, life feels light, free and meaningful. When you’re not, things are ok at best. It just means you need to stop ticking boxes and get back into alignment with the real you.

Here are three signs you might be out of alignment and what to do about it.

1. You Feel Restless (even if life looks good on paper)

On the surface, you might have the family, the home, the car, maybe the career or maybe you’re as free as a bird looking after the kids at home. Either way, its everything you thought you wanted but inside, you feel unsettled, like there’s something missing.

This restlessness isn’t selfish or silly. We need to lean into these feelings and embrace them so we can get back on track, not feel guilty for having them. It’s simply your soul saying “There’s more to life you know. There’s a deeper way of living that will give you so much joy.”

2. You’re Exhausted From Overthinking

You might replay the same problem in your head over and over again but you never feel clearer. You might even feel paralysed from moving forward and unable to make a decision in case it’s the wrong one.

Don’t worry, we’ve all been through it. It’s just that we’re not taught to embrace our feelings and making change to suit those feelings. We’re taught to put up and shut up.

The truth is that you’re stuck in an old rulebook. You’ve been conditioned to believe that success means always pushing, striving and figuring everything out logically.

Real alignment comes when you blend logic with intuition and science with soul. The fog can actually clear very quickly when you apply a new and better set of rules to your feelings. A new rulebook that makes decisions feel natural instead of heavy.

3. You Feel Guilty For Wanting More

You might tell yourself that you should be grateful for what you have and that you are lucky because so many people would give their right arm for what you have. But gratitude and fulfilment aren’t the same thing. You can be thankful for your life and still crave more joy, more purpose and more passion.

Guilt can often show up when your soul blueprint is trying to guide you into a new chapter for your happiness and fulfilment. Unfortunately we’ve been conditioned to suppress the original feelings of dissatisfaction rather than lean into them and then we feel guilty for having the feelings in the first place. These feelings are not meant to be resisted, they are guiding you to happiness not guilt.

If we work to a different rulebook and a different mindset, you don’t have to abandon what you have, you can expand into who you really are.

How to Get Back on Track

Please be reassured that alignment is always possible and small shifts can make a huge difference.

Top tips are:

  • Listen to your emotions instead of pushing them down

  • Get clear on your soul blueprint (your gifts, values, passions, desires)

  • Replace the old, broken rules that leave us stuck and unfulfilled with a new rulebook that actually works to move us forwards to real depth of passion and purpose

When you start aligning with who you really are, life feels lighter, freer and much more fulfilling.
